We have reached a new all time low-we are parked at a Comfort Inn piggybacking on their free wifi. The KOA is having trouble with their server, so here we are. The kids are happily watching Tom and Jerry on the lifesaving dual screen DVD player, and Coley and I are logged on. We are fixing to have to feed Keeg because he is moaning that he is starving. The last 3 days have been busy. Sunday we drove to Golden. It was a beautiful drive in the mountains. We ended up at Heritage Square or as Coley called it "the poor people's Six Flags". We originally went their for the Alpine Slide, but the kids were not old enough, and apparently I have become a big chicken in my old age. Keeg drove a race car and had a good time. I had a scare and thought I lost my wedding ring, but it was in the car. I guess I had taken it off to put on sunscreen and set it down on the console. It was a scary moment. On the way back to Estes Park we went 10 miles out of our way to feed our Sonic obsession. It had been days and we were desperately in need of our drink fix. We left Estes park yesterday and drove up to Cheyenne. We stopped at Fort Collins at the Budweiser Brewery on the way up and took the tour. When we reached our KOA Coley discovered one of the trailer tires was balk. The Good Lord was watching out for us on the mountain road out of Estes Park. We will be going by FAt Boy tires on our way out of here on Thursday to have 4 new tires put on. We still have many miles to go and decided better safe than sorry. We had a nice dinner last night with a guy that Coley knew from Rodeo. His wife and one of his sons came, and we had a nice time.
Today we did laundry (piles of it), and Keeg and daddy went swimming. Serena refused to get in the pool. The water was a little chilly. We also went to the Cheyenne Frontier Days museum this afternoon. The kids enjoyed it. Serena kept asking where Quail was. Tomorrow they are having fireworks. The wind has blown hard today, so I hope the weather is cooperative. We are going to relax and kill time tomorrow. Thursay will be a long day.
Keegan patiently waited 15 minutes to drive his race car. He was a great driver.
Serena and I on our "nature walk" for the day at the Budweiser Brewery.
You should have heard the sound effects they had going.Serena wanted to get in all of the wagons after this.
Another self family portrait. Not the most flattering shot. Quail was inducted in 2003. Keegan was pouting because he had to leave the kid's room.
